Learning from mentors is one of the most valuable ways to improve your business, and thanks to our RE/MAX Europe Ambassadors, you can learn from the best of the best!

As a real estate agent, it’s important to constantly strive for growth in your career. Having the right coach to guide you along the way can make this so much easier, and when you can build on lessons learned by others – with skills and techniques perfected by top performers – you can put your success on the fast track.

Our RE/MAX Ambassadors are chosen from top performers across Europe to serve as mentors to the entire RE/MAX family. They serve for two years, guiding their fellow agents and broker/owners by sharing the best practices and advanced techniques that have helped them build their careers. To introduce you to our newest Agent Ambassadors, we asked them to share their secrets to success. Whether you’re a new agent just starting out or a seasoned pro looking to take your career to the next level, their insights will help you reach new heights in your profession. So, let’s dive in and learn from the best of the best!

Extend your knowledge

In an ever-changing market, continuous learning is the number one way to stay ahead of the curve and set yourself up for success, and our RE/MAX Ambassadors all highlighted the role that training has played in building their businesses. “RE/MAX set me up for success by giving me the knowledge that I lacked when I entered the real estate market,” says Sylwia Gajek-Zielinska, an Agent Ambassador from Poland.

However, it’s important to take advantage of all the learning opportunities that RE/MAX offers – not just formal training in specialized courses with expert teachers, but also informal settings where you can get advice from fellow agents. “Sharing experience and giving me support has allowed me to focus on my goals, and that’s the way to grow and see success,” says Sylwia.

Play your day for success

Setting clear goals is the most important way to boost your productivity and see better results, and our RE/MAX Ambassadors all stressed the practice of creating a specific goal for the day. “My essential daily rules for achieving my objectives are, first of all, planning the day ahead, setting the appointments and agenda for the day ahead,” says Agent Ambassador Cinzia La Spisa from Italy.

Sticking to your plan and being consistent with your goals becomes easier, however, when you check in throughout the day. Cinzia makes sure that she pushes herself outside of her comfort zone every day to build her business, brick by brick. “And at the end of the day,” says Cinzia, “I take stock of the day and always try to come out on top, adding a brick to the wall that I started building the day before.”

Nurture your relationships

Communication is the key to customer satisfaction, and making sure that you keep clients informed of what’s happening throughout the buying or selling process is at the top of the list for our RE/MAX Ambassadors. Don’t forget that finding ways to go the extra mile or create a five-star experience for clients always starts with the basics. “It might sound obvious,” says Margaret Fogarty, Agent Ambassador from Ireland, “but always answer your phone and return calls and emails in a timely manner.” It’s often the little things that get overlooked.

Putting yourself in the customer’s shoes can help you find ways to improve your customer service. “I always try to remember: for us as agents, we do this every day,” says Margaret. “But for our clients, it might be the first time that they’ve bought or sold a home and they rely entirely on our expertise. Remember their first time is our every time.” Any extra time you devote to your clients today will come back to you in the future, because satisfied customers will be happy to refer you to their family and friends when they need an agent down the road.

Use your best resource to expand your reach

Working with a RE/MAX agent is a huge advantage for your customers, giving them access to nearly 140,000 agents worldwide. But be sure that you’re taking advantage of that access for your own business. “The extensive network of RE/MAX offices across Europe has helped me to list and sell properties to clients around the world,” says Brigitte Castano, Agent Ambassador from Spain. And creating these connections is the key to a sustainable business.

The first step to cooperating with agents in other countries is as simple as asking. “Why not take advantage of our network?” says Brigitte. “With so many offices at the street level across Europe, each office should display the message: Looking to buy a property abroad? Ask us!” You’ll start a chain of active cooperation between offices and agents that will give everyone’s business a big boost.

Look to the past to build for the future

Finally, to focus on growth our RE/MAX Ambassadors review the past year to see what they can learn for the future. Cinzia looks back to compete with her past performance. “I always challenge myself to exceed my goals from last year,” she says.

For Margaret, as the market shifted towards buyers, this means responding to changes in the industry and finding ways to adjust to the new needs customers might have. “My focus now is ‘How can I represent the buyer and not just the seller’” she says.

Sylwia and Brigitte both agree that no matter how things might change, the future always brings possibilities. “Look forward to challenges,” says Sylwia, since they bring the chance for professional development. And remember, says Brigitte, “crisis brings opportunities. So, keep working hard and do your best, and the results will come.”

Applying these lessons from our RE/MAX Ambassadors can help you achieve more success for your own business. However, follow their lead by sharing your own tips and techniques with your colleagues to see even greater results! Remember, we can go farther when we go together.
